By now, I’m officially in love with the Berlin fashion scene!

Unique structuring of patterns, unusual designs and experimental approach in fabric selection, that’s “Berlin Style” and I’m so much in love with it! Luckily, I was one of the fashion designers who have been selected for the Young Fashion Designer Exchange Project, part of the 2nd Berlin Dubai Festival 29th –Oct till 2nd Nov (organized by the Goethe-Institute) along with other wonderful Emirati designers Maryam Selaich and Madeyya Almazroie and the Dubai-based German-Egyptian designer Mona Fares, to visit Berlin and get interacted with the Berlin fashion scene.

Part of this program which was organized by Goethe-Institute and ‘Visit Berlin’, kindly supported by the German Airline, Air Berlin, we had the chance to visit ESMOD Berlin International University of Fashion, where we will be working with 4 other Berlin-based fashion designers, to develop a unique collection that combines the style of both of our inspiring cities: Dubai and Berlin.

Part of our program, we have visited different ateliers and stores of Berlin Fashion Labels such as Mongrels in Common, Lala Berlin and Kaviar Gauche. We had the chance to meet them personally! And that’s not all; we met very important bodies that are developing the fashion scene in Berlin such as INPOLIS and Create Berlin.

Wonderful tour within ESMOD Berlin and checking how young designers interpret the different kinds of fabrics to come up with their own different fabrics!

A visit to one of the classes, where young designers are learning how to develop the different inspiration broads and extract that on collections and accessories!

Fashionable discussion with ESMOD Berlin young designers who are visiting Dubai soon! (Wonderful designs girls and good job!)

Another fashionable discussion with Olivia and Christine for ‘Mongrels in Common’ (amazing Berlin-base fashion labels that’s really worth the watch), very elegant and creative; I loved their signature buttons on the shirts!

Create Berlin and INPOLIS meeting; at the inspiring historical place, Café Rix, Berlin! Honestly I totally loved the paintings in the café!

Socially responsible fashion brands in Berlin is the new trend, my wonderful fashion designer friends, Maryam Selaich and Mona Fares; discussing designs of FORMAT and Treches.

Me while shopping for buttons for upcoming collection!

“We can’t wait to welcome the 4 young fashion designers who will be coming from Berlin to Dubai, to be introduced to the local fashion design scene. The 8 of us will be working on developing a collection that will be influenced by Dubai and Berlin styles, and this collection will be presented early next year.”

Stay Stylish!
